Bernadette and Jen

Bernadette Peters (born Bernadette lazzara on February 28, 1948) was an American actress singer and children's book author born in Ozone Park Queens New York . In an extensive career spanning more than five decades, she has appeared in musical theatre movies and TV shows and has also performed as a solo artist and recording. She has received seven Tony Awards nominations, two of which she won along with 8 Drama Desk Awards. Grammy Awards went to four Broadway Cast Albums, in which she starred. Peters began her professional career acting on stage in her early years as a kid. Then she moved on into film and television in the 1970s. Apart from her appearances in The Muppet Show, The Carol Burnett Show, and in other TV work she also received praise for the roles that she performed in Annie and Silent Movie. The year was 1980 when she started to return to Broadway and soon became one of the most famous performers on that stage for the following thirty years. She has released several singles as well as six solos, many casts albums, and frequently performs as a solo act in concert. Peters also works as an actor in TV and film and was awarded a single award and nominated for three Emmy Awards.
